Originally founded by men involved in men's groups and community education, counseling and support programs for men and boys, the North Coast Men's Gathering has become an annual event where men and boys can share their experiences, dreams and hopes, trials and triumphs -- while safely exploring with other men the external and internal barriers that hold us back from being the men, fathers, brothers, sons, lovers, partners and community members we want to be. Retaining its anti-sexist principles, the Northcoast Men's Gathering welcomes and is open to men of all backgrounds, orientations, ethnicities and spiritualities More than 325 men and boys have attended the 17 gatherings held since 1990. Several dozen men have participated in the open planning groups that create each year's gathering. For more info on the History of the Gathering, see the rest of the story. |
